Casablanca
Escape the red city for a day and head to the coast to explore Casablanca, Morocco’s vibrant economic capital and cultural melting pot.
Your day begins with an early pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at around 8:00 AM. Sit back and enjoy a scenic drive through the Moroccan countryside as you make your way north toward Casablanca — a journey of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
Upon arrival, start your visit at the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most breathtaking mosques in the world. Perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, it’s a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship, with intricate mosaics, marble details, and a towering minaret that dominates the skyline.
Next, explore the Corniche Ain Diab, Casablanca’s elegant seaside promenade. Feel the ocean breeze as you enjoy views of the Atlantic and the city’s modern skyline. Continue to the Habous Quarter, also known as the “New Medina,” famous for its blend of Moroccan and French colonial architecture. Here, you’ll find traditional shops selling spices, olives, and handicrafts in a peaceful atmosphere.
Pass by Mohammed V Square, the heart of the city, surrounded by impressive government buildings and Art Deco architecture. You’ll also have free time to walk through the Old Medina, a maze of narrow streets and local markets, where you can experience Casablanca’s authentic daily life.
Enjoy a lunch break at your leisure — you may choose to dine at the famous Rick’s Café, inspired by the classic movie Casablanca, or one of the many restaurants along the Corniche.
In the late afternoon, begin your journey back to Marrakech, arriving around 8:00 PM after a full day of discovery.
