Marrakech to desert tour Fes Morocco Tour Itinerary
Day 1 : MARRAKECH – TIZI N TICHKA – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – GORGES DE DADES
For the Desert Fès Tour from Marrakech, your driver will pick you up at 08:00 and you’ll begin a 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to the Dades Gorges over the Tizi n Tichka Atlas Pass, with superb mountain views, to Berber villages in the traditional High Atlas. Afterwards, you continue to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site and have lunch in one of the restaurants at the foot of the Kasbahs, then we continue to the Dades Gorge through Skoura and the Valley of the Roses, spending the night in a traditional Kasbah in the Dades Gorge.
Days 2&3 : DADES GORGES – TINGHIR – GORGES DU TODRA – TINJDAD – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Gorge to the Erg Chebbi desert at Merzouga. Berber villages are scattered along the way, we’ll cross the Todra Gorges, Tenghir, Tinjdad, Jorf and Erfoud, where we’ll feel the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, then we’ll continue to a hotel in Merzouga, after a few minutes’ break, you’ll take some luggage in a small bag (just what’s needed for the night in the desert) and leave the rest at the hotel, then we’ll mount the camels on an adventure across the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, an excellent opportunity to take great photos of sunset and sunrise.
When we reach the camp, we’ll leave our mounts and take a walk in the higher sand dunes to sandboard and watch the sunset, spending the night in a camp (Berber nomad tents) with drumming in the middle of the Sahara.
Day 4 : MERZOUGA – ERFOUD – VALLÉE DE ZIZ – MIDELT – AZROU – IFRANE – FÈS
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise over the top of the dune in the Sahara desert, followed by breakfast. After breakfast, we’ll head to the hotel for a shower. On to Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufous and the Ziz valley, stopping for a panoramic view of the Aoufous oasis in the Tafilalte region. Continuation to Midelt via the Tizi n Talghamt pass and lunch break.
After lunch, you’ll be driven to Fes (the medieval city) through the cedar forest near Azrou and the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a chance to see barbary monkeys. You’ll stop in Ifrane (the Switzerland of Morocco) before arriving in Fes.
Day 5 : FÈS – MARRAKECH
Check-out at your hotel in Fez after breakfast and depart via the capital Rabat and Casablanca for lunch, visit the famous Hassan II mosque and arrive in the evening at your riad or hotel in Marrakech.
